Life is a collective experience. Humans are hard-wired to communicate.
The oldest known surviving artwork is a cave painting depicting red hand stencils in Maltravieso cave, Cáceres, Spain. It has been dated to be older than 64,000 years and was made by a Neanderthal.
In a nod to this genesis of artistic expression, this simple experiment requires each participant to produce simple line drawn stencil of their hand. Each outline is placed on top of the last in broadly the same position. As the lines simultaneously overlap and diverge they illustrate that at any given moment we are all the same - yet different and that ultimately, existence is relationship.
Instructions: Draw a line around your hand using the centre point of the existing drawing as your positioning guide
